About
Being an artist has always been a driving force in my life, but the natural sciences have been the inspiration behind my work.
I went to an arts high school as a teenager and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Minnesota in printmaking. After some success selling my paintings and prints I decided to officially integrate my love for the sciences into my work. After finishing my degree at the science illustration masters program at California State University Monterey Bay with my main focus in invertebrate zoology I worked with the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago and the Smithsonian Institute and USDA in Washington DC this past summer and fall. I have recently returned to Chicago to stay and continue work with science institutions in the area.
